The School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research was established under the aegis of PSS HEALTH AND EDUCATION in 2023. The academic session 2025-2026 will see the start of the Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharmacy) course. This course is affiliated with the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development, Kolkata, and the approval of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi, is pending.
The institute is run by its organizing committee and advisors. The management is committed to providing the students with the necessary environment and the support for their career planning and advancement. Though focused on ensuring academic and co-curricular facilities for a vibrant student community, the college is conscious of its role as a constructive and responsible component of the larger society.
Special attention will be given to the personality development and interpersonal interaction of the students. The students will be encouraged to participate in various extracurricular activities like seminars, conferences, sports, and cultural events.
Pharmaceutical technology is a pillar of health sciences where discovery, synthesis, and formulation of drugs are involved. It is an essential part of the healthcare system. Any science student who has passed 10+2 with PCM or PCB is eligible for the D. Pharm. course. It is a full-time 2-year course where theories as well as practical classes are taught. After completion of the course, 3 months (500 hours) of practical training have been given for getting registration as a pharmacist. Actually, the D. Pharm. course provides basic knowledge of pharmaceutical technology. It has future prospects in different fields like hospital pharmacy, drug store management, handling prescriptions, dispensing medicines, patient counselling, inventory control, higher studies, and others.
Our organisation, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, managed by PSS HEALTH AND EDUCATION, is committed to providing good facilities of classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a library with large collections of selected books and journals, a beautiful garden with large collections of medicinal plants. Here are devoted and knowledgeable teachers ready to serve themselves for making future pharmacists and welfare societies.
This institute has a goal to reach the students in the best field of technical knowledge and skills. It will make the future leaders through the nurturing of scientific temperaments, the discovery of hidden talents, and the inspiration of professional ethics in the era of pharmaceutical technology. The development of manpower by providing skilled pharmacists in the region of North Bengal, Northeast India, as well as in the whole country, is the dream of the college.
